PSE's Renewable Energy Center at the Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility officially opened April 1, 2008. Weather permitting, the REC is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. seven days a week from April through November.
The center sits at 3,500 foot elevation on a ridge above the Kittitas Valley and Columbia Basin. From this vantage point the entire Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, and the Columbia River Basin looking toward Moses Lake can be viewed. Interpretive displays at the center, developed by Central Washington University, lead visitors on a trail of discovery as they learn about the site and renewable energy.
The 5,000-square-foot facility includes a conference room that will accommodate 48 people, with kitchen and catering facilities. To find out if you qualify to use and schedule the room, call PSE at 509-964-7815.
