Prescriptive Approach - New Buildings
PSE’s prescriptive approach to energy efficiency in new office buildings offers a clear path to incorporating cost-effective efficiency upgrades. Following PSE’s prescriptive approach will result in a facility that is at least 10 percent more energy efficient than required by the Washington State Energy Code. Incentives for office projects range from 55 cents to $2.60 per square foot.
Office projects must be no larger than 100,000 square feet and incorporate one of three main efficiency measures: Enhanced HVAC Controls, Building Envelope Upgrade, or a Condensing Boiler. Office buildings must have at least one more measure from PSE’s list of additional measures. Incorporating more measures means that you will earn more incentives. Preapproval is required and installed measures must be verified by PSE before incentives will be paid.
This approach can be used for LEED certified buildings and in conjunction with the BPA program for office buildings. If you are choosing the LEED or BPA measures, please see the files below.
