In the Pacific Northwest, we make smart choices every day to protect the environment. Did you know that you can make the same thoughtful choices when it comes to energy? Through the Green Power Program at Puget Sound Energy (PSE), you can support the development of electricity generated from renewable sources in the Northwest for as little as $4 per month. PSE's Green Power Program is one of the top 10 Green Power Programs in the country (source: National Renewable Energy Laboratory, 12/2007).
Our Green Power Program provides a voluntary way for residents and businesses in our service area, to join together in ensuring a more beautiful and healthier Washington for future generations.
Who participates?
PSE's Green Power Program currently has over 19,500 participants, including over 500 businesses. In 2006, these customers bought a combined 131,742,000 kWh of green power, enough renewable energy to serve approximately 11,000 homes. In the first two quarters of 2007, green power customers purchased 112,761,000 kWh and are on track to purchase over 200,000,000 kWh by the end of the year. Olympia and Bellingham lead the region, with the most green power subscribers in PSE's service area.
