1. Important Information

Includes information on split bills, rate schedules, late payment fee charges, and the current state utility tax, which is included in all charges.

2. Historical Usage Graph

Illustrates your energy usage for a 12-month period to help you identify usage patterns and track your energy efficiency efforts.

3. Usage Comparison

A table that compares this year’s energy usage with last year’s energy usage from the same billing period. Shows the number of days of service in the billing period, total energy usage (kWh), average energy usage per day (kWh), and the average daily temperature.

4. Gas Detail

Provides detailed information about your natural gas charges, including your total energy usage in therms, meter number, current and previous meter reads and read dates. An explanation of billing statement codes, shown under the “Code” heading, can be found on the back of your bill.

5. Itemized Gas Charges

Each natural gas charge or credit is displayed as a separate line item, to help you see how your current gas charges were calculated. Each line item specifies the type of charge, a date range showing when that rate was in effect, and the cost or credit of each rate.

5a. Basic Charge

Covers a portion of the costs for billing, meter reading and other related fixed customer service charges. These fixed system costs do not vary with the amount of energy used or the number of days covered by the bill. You pay the basic charge even if no electricity is used.

5b. Delivery Charge

Covers costs associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas pipes, gate stations, pressure regulators, and other equipment necessary for the delivery of natural gas to you, and is based on the amount of natural gas used.

5c. Cost of Gas

Covers the price of the natural gas supplies PSE purchases for you.

5d. Program Charges, Adjustments, Credits

Cover specific surcharges or credits not included in the basic or energy charges.
