Are my students eligible for Powerful Choices for the Environment?
Powerful Choices for the Environmentis available in 6th-8th grade science classrooms throughout Puget Sound Energy's (PSE's) service area. If your middle school or junior high school is located in PSE's natural gas and/or electric service area, then your students are eligible for the program.
How long is thePowerful Choices for the Environment program?
Powerful Choices for the Environment fills four, 50-minute class periods and generally occurs Monday through Thursday. Powerful Choices facilitators are available to teach all the teacher's science classes for those four days. Powerful Choices' four facilitators can teach in four separate classrooms in one school. We work with your school to make the schedule convenient for all those involved.
Is there a fee for the Powerful Choices for the Environment program?
Powerful Choices for the Environment is free to all school districts in PSE's service area. The program is funded by PSE and over 20 local partnering agencies.
Will Powerful Choices for the Environment fit in with my curriculum?
Powerful Choices for the Environment is aligned with Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements. Powerful Choices facilitators meet with science teachers at each school prior to delivering the program to make more direct links to your specific curriculum.
When can my students participate in the Powerful Choices for the Environment program?
Powerful Choices for the Environment is offered September through June and occurs at a mutually convenient time.
Who delivers the Powerful Choices for the Environment program?
Environmental education professionals trained in local resource use deliver Powerful Choices for the Environment.
How do I sign my students up for Powerful Choices for the Environment?
