Puget Sound Energy natural gas pipeline project
Chehalis natural gas line (phase 2)
Summer 2009 project updates
-
Currently, we are in the design and engineering stage of the project
-
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010
Project overview
We are working to upgrade our natural gas system in Chehalis to our customers’ current and future needs. We will be replacing 13,200 feet of 4-inch natural gas line with 8-inch natural gas line along Coal Creek Road. This is a continuation of our
initial segment
of 8-inch natural gas line completed in fall 2007. In the first phase we replaced 1.2 miles of 4-inch natural gas line with 8-inch natural gas line along N. National Avenue and NE Coal Creek Road in Chehalis.
How does natural gas get to my home or business?
Natural gas is a fossil fuel composed almost entirely of methane. Interstate pipelines transport natural gas to regional natural gas systems, where it is metered and delivered through a network of local mains, service lines and, ultimately, to customer homes and businesses. Natural gas provides 13 percent of the state's energy.
Committed to keeping you informed
