Watershed
The Baker River watershed is located in a mountainous area west of the Cascade Mountains in Skagit and Whatcom counties of northwest Washington state. The river's headwaters lie in the northeastern section of the basin along the slopes of Mt. Challenger and Whatcom Peak. Several entities own land within the Baker River basin, including the US Forest Service, North Cascades National Park, Washington Department of Natural Resources and Puget Sound Energy. The watershed covers approximately 300 square miles.
