Baker River Relicensing: About
Lower Baker
The Lower Baker Development, completed in 1925, is located approximately a half mile north of Concrete, WA., upstream from where the Baker and Skagit Rivers meet. This development consists of the Lower Baker dam, reservoir, and associated facilities. The powerhouse contains a single generating unit that is capable of producing 70 megawatts (70 MW) of electricity. The reservoir, called Lake Shannon, was created following completion of the Lower Baker dam. Lake Shannon is approximately seven miles long.
