IBEW – solar installation training facility - Renton, WA
PSE recognized the opportunity to help advance the center's solar electricity training program and agreed to fund half of the building's solar photovoltaic installation costs. The hands-on training program being offered at this facility is expected to expand the use of solar technology in the Pacific Northwest by increasing the number of electricians qualified to design and install solar power systems. A net metering system is provided that enables the training center to send 
power back into the grid when the system produces more electricity than the center is using.
The long-term goal is to supply 50 percent of the center's energy through the on-site PV system. The installation serves as the foundation for what is expected to become the largest solar power installation in Washington state.
