Puget Sound Energy has received the Tree Line USA award from the |
| |
Arbor Day Foundation for nine years in a row in recognition of the |
| |
utility’s efforts to protect and enhance urban forests while ensuring |
| |
reliable service. The company will provide trees and on-site arborists to |
| |
answer questions about safe tree planting near electric power lines. |
| |

The city of Poulsbo is a 12-year winner of the Arbor Day Foundation’s |
| |
Tree City USA award, which the city earned for demonstrating continued |
| |
progress in urban forestry programs. The award nationally recognizes |
| |
greener communities. City arborist Kevin McFarland will be available to |
| |
answer questions about proper tree planting. |

About the Poulsbo Tree Board
The seven-member Poulsbo Tree Board was created in 1997, and is responsible to the city council for its duties and actions. Duties of the board include:

C. Advocating trees and providing for aesthetics within the city
D. Developing innovative and joint funding for tree projects in the city
