​Small Business Lighting

 
Are you a small business owner — one of PSE’s Schedule 24 or 8 customers? Are there inefficient lamps in your facility? If so, PSE’s Small Business Lighting Program offers a menu of rebates to help with the cost of upgrading to more efficient lighting. You get the ongoing benefit of better lighting and lower energy use. The small business lighting program can be applied to a broad range of efficient lighting options.


Incandescent Conversions

  • Compact fluorescent lamps—screw base CFLs substitute for screw base incandescent bulbs: $3 to $12
  • New compact fluorescent fixtures: $35 to $55
  • New 4-FT fluorescent lamp fixture: $60
  • New LED exit signs: $50
 

Higher Wattage Incandescent and HID Conversions

  • Higher efficiency HID light sources (metal halide and HPS): $75 to $100
  • T8 or T5 fluorescent warehouse lighting:
    $95 to $190
  • CFL higher-wattage wall packs: $110 to $130
 

T12 Fluorescent Lamp and Ballast (only) Conversions

  • Lamp for lamp conversions, using T8 lamps and electronic ballasts: $40 to $45
  • T8 lamps and electronic ballasts, but with fewer lamps: $50
 

Linear Fluorescent Conversion Hardware Kits and New Replacement Fixtures 

  • Rebate options for linear-tube fluorescent lighting include incentives for reducing lamp count: $40 to $85
 

Lighting Controls

  • Applies to occupancy sensor or timer controls. The rebate amount depends on the wattage controlled: $40 to $80
Lighting upgrades not listed on the small-business lighting pre-approval form may be eligible for custom incentives. Call a PSE Energy Advisor at 1-800-562-1482 for details.


Eligibility guidelines

Your business can benefit from this rebate by meeting the following requirements for eligibility:
  • PSE electric customer served by commercial rate schedule 24 or 08
  • Obtained pre-approval prior to ordering or installing materials
 
All other non-residential customers can apply for funding for lighting upgrades via our custom grant program.
 
Eligible business lighting rebate measures provide several avenues for converting older commercial lighting to more efficient lighting. Lighting hardware covered by the rebates includes lamps, lamp and ballast combinations, fixture conversion kits, new fixtures, and lighting controls. Each basic way of upgrading lighting—five in all—is listed, in individual sections, on the rebate pre-approval form.


How to participate

Step 1. Obtain PSE pre-authorization
  • Complete and sign the rebate pre-approval form
  • Make a copy for your records
  • Mail the completed and signed application to PSE
  • PSE will process your application after we receive it
  • Authorizations are noted at the bottom of the application on the copy returned to you. Be sure to save this copy for Step 3
 
Step 2. Complete the installation within 6 months of authorization
 
Step 3. Submit your application for payment
  • Sign material receipts or contractor invoices to indicate your approval and acceptance of the installation, or material purchases if your in-house project was not billed for labor. Please circle rebate-eligible items, item quantities and note which measure code from the PSE application applies
  • Return the PSE-authorized copy of your application to PSE, along with signed and dated invoices/receipts
  • Include a copy of your lighting waste disposal form, if applicable
  • If the contractor will be the payee for the project, please include a copy of the assignment of funds form, signed by the customer
  • Funding availability is subject to annual program budgets. However, payment is guaranteed for pre-authorized projects
 
PSE reserves the right to inspect installations for compliance prior to payment.

 

Apply now

Fill out the rebate pre-approval form, sign and date it, and: 

1. Customer signs and clearly prints name on bottom of page 2 of the pre-approval form indicating acceptance of the project and understanding of responsibilities.

2. In the same e-mail attach:
    a. A scanned copy of the signed page 2 (as a PDF)
    b. Assignment of Funds Form (as a PDF)
    c. Completed Rebate Pre-approval form (as Excel file)

3. E-mail submission is preferred but fax and regular mail may be used if e-mail is not available. Fax and mail submissions may take an additional 7 to 14 days to process.
