First off, PSE would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued commitment to energy efficiency and participating in our 2011 Multifamily Retrofit Program. And while retrofitting buildings have proven to deliver real and quantifiable energy and financial savings to property owners and tenants—the benefits of installing energy efficient products extend far beyond the building footprint and deep into the community. Together we have helped reduce the energy usage in our region and protect the environment.

Here are some of the program highlights for 2011:

As the program positions itself for 2012, there are a few important changes to note that will go into effect January 1, 2012. Announced in the September E-blast, it may come as a reminder that the gas program in particular will experience the greatest impact due to current energy market conditions.


2012 Multifamily Retrofit Program Updates

 
Electric Measure Updates
Specification changes:
  • Triple-pane windows and patio doors
    • Must have U-Value of 0.22 or lower
New measures:
  • ENERGY STAR qualified LED lamps and fixtures
    • $20/lamp
    • $30/fixture
  • ENERGY STAR qualified mechanical ventilation
    • $40/fan
  • ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator upgrade
    • $20/refrigerator
       
Natural Gas Measure Updates
Discontinued measures:
  • Natural gas tankless water heater 
  • Attic insulation
  • R-11 to R-38
  • Floor insulation
  • Windows and sliding glass doors 


Incentives apply to all existing multifamily properties with five or more attached units located in PSE's service areas.

 

Important reminder: An energy audit must be performed by a PSE representative to qualify and an authorized agreement must be in place prior to the installation of measures.  

 

All rebates are tariffed services and are subject to change or termination without prior notice.
