Incentives for Builders

Builder Incentives


Builders

PSE offers the following incentives to help offset the cost of installing higher efficiency measures into the homes you build.  Incentives apply to single-family, detached housing and any attached housing with four units or less. Apartment buildings are not eligible. Depending on installed equipment efficiency and energy type provided by PSE - see details and restrictions listed below. The incentives are as follows:

  • $800 incentive/$20 per fixture for ENERGY STAR ® qualified pin-based compact fluorescent light (CFL) fixtures

    Instant incentive per fixture must be installed in PSE's residential electric service area.  Limited to 40 fixtures per home.

  • up to $350 rebate for each high-efficiency air-source electric heat pump

    Must be installed in PSE's residential electric service area.  Tiered incentives: $350 for a certified HSPF of 9.0 or higher and a SEER of 14.0 or higher, or $200 for a certified HSPF of 8.5 and a SEER of 14.0 or higher.

  • $350 incentive for each ENERGY STAR qualified natural gas furnace 

    Must be installed in PSE's residential natural gas service area and be rated at least 90 percent efficient. Natural gas furnace must be the primary source of heat to qualify.

  • $350 incentive for duct sealing associated with natural gas furnace performance testing 

    To qualify, natural gas furnace must be the primary source of heat and installed in PSE’s residential natural gas service area. Insulation R-8 (ducts inside heated space exempt). Sealing - Mastic (tapes not allowed). Maximum leakage measures less than.06 CFM per sq. ft. or 75 CFM total @ 50 Pa. Applies to Certified Northwest ENERGY STAR homes, or provide utility with documentation that duct sealing and performance testing meet the NWESH specification.

  • Up to $300 incentive/$3 per bulb for ENERGY STAR qualified CFL bulbs

    Instant incentive per bulb for PSE’s must be installed in PSE’s residential electric area.  Limited to 100 bulbs per home.

  • Up to $100 instant Home Bonus on ENERGY STAR certified home

    Must be built by a Northwest ENERGY STAR Homes Builder and be certified by Washington state. The bonus applies to new homes certified by Northwest ENERGY STAR Homes. Homes built in PSE’s natural gas service area receive a $50 instant bonus and homes built in PSE’s electric service area receive a $50 instant bonus or homes built in PSE’s combined service area receive a $100 instant bonus..

  • Up to $100 incentive for each ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washer

    Must be installed in PSE’s residential electric service area. Tiered incentives for ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers: $50 for modified energy factor (MEF) of 1.8-1.99, $75 for MEF of 2.0-2.19, or $100 for MEF of 2.2 and above.

  • $150 incentive for each natural gas tankless water heater

    Must be installed in PSE’s residential natural gas service area and have 0.80 or higher energy factor

  • $40 incentive for each high-efficiency natural gas water heater

    Must be installed in PSE’s residential natural gas service area, have 0.62 or higher energy factor, and have a capacity of 20–100 gallons of storage with a maximum input of 75,000 BTU/hour.

  • $20 incentive for each ENERGY STAR qualified dishwasher

     Must be installed in PSE’s residential electric service area with an energy factor of .65 or higher.
