EnergySmart Grocer

The EnergySmart Grocer program provides grocers with energy audits and information about efficient technology, operations, and management that illuminate the possibilities and impact of increasing efficiency in their stores particularly in the complicated realm of food refrigeration. The program highlights the advantages of energy-efficient refrigeration, lighting, and HVAC systems. This program is available to grocers and food stores that receive electric service from Puget Sound Energy (PSE). EnergySmart Grocer provides grocers with information that helps them understand the possibilities and impact of installing energy efficient equipment and practices.

Retailers are provided with:

• a store walk-through, where a skilled energy expert explains energy saving opportunities;
• an energy-savings report, with opportunities ranked by cost-effectiveness;
• an energy use comparison, showing the store's potential revenue gain, due to energy-efficiency improvements, compared to a national average of energy use;
• and a list of PSE energy-efficiency incentives available based on the energy-savings report.
