Low Income Assistance: Assistance Programs
Federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
The federal government's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides financial assistance to eligible low-income households to help pay for their winter heating bills. Funding may also be available for Emergency Services such as heating system repairs/replacements to qualifying households. A household is eligible to receive federal LIHEAP assistance when its income is equal or less than 125 percent of poverty guidelines. In most cases, payments are made directly to home energy suppliers.
