Downtown Redmond Link Extension Project Overview
In conjunction with Sound Transit’s Downtown Redmond Link Extension light rail project—and to ensure we continue to deliver safe and reliable energy to you and your neighbors, Puget Sound Energy and its contractors have been working to underground and relocate existing above-ground electrical and natural gas infrastructure along the determined route.
2021 Project Overview
What PSE customers can expect:
- Occasional reduced travel lanes and intermittent road closures.
- Construction signage, temporary traffic detours and pedestrian detours along the project route.
- Typical construction noise and heavy machinery along the route.
- Some customers may experience a brief, planned power outage as part of this work. All impacted customers will be notified of any planned outages in advance.
Upcoming Work April-June 2021
Crews are continuing to work relocating underground electric utilities at Safeco Road and Northeast 45th Street and are set to begin the relocation of a 2 inch gas main at the same intersection. Work is also continuing along Northeast 70th Street where crews are undergrounding the overhead electrical distribution lines—work to relocate a gas main in the Northeast 70th Street area is also expected to begin this quarter.
