As a provider of an essential service, we are working to ensure we are here for our customers, our community and our employees as coronavirus impacts the region.

With Governor Inslee’s phased reopening of select aspects of our community and economy, such as the construction sector, PSE is gradually returning maintenance and construction crews back into the field. PSE’s highest priority is the health and safety of our employees and communities. As such, we continue to adhere to current CDC guidance regarding COVID-19 while working in our community.

We are requiring our employees to maintain social distancing while working in the field. We encourage our customers to do the same when engaging with our employees.

Commercial customers can join the program with a minimum purchase of two blocks at $8 a month. Two blocks cover approximately 18 percent of the carbon dioxide emissions of the average commercial customer. Because natural gas usage varies greatly between individual customers, PSE can work directly with you to determine your annual natural gas usage, and the best participation option for your business.

Gas use widely varies from business to business. For your custom proposal, please e-mail carbonbalance@pse.com.

PSE does not make a profit on the Carbon Balance program.

Featured program resource

Purchasing carbon offsets sourced from certified* environmentally responsible energy projects in the Northwest allows Carbon Balance to support local programs such as:

Cedar Grove Organic Waste Composting, Maple Valley, WA

At Cedar Grove’s composting facility, yard and food waste, which in the past would have ended up dumped in landfill, is now being harnessed for its potential as a nutrient-rich garden topping. Additionally, the composting process reduces the creation of methane – a gas that otherwise would escape into the atmosphere. Through the Carbon Balance program, carbon offsets are earned through the reduction of this greenhouse gas during the anaerobic digestion process.

*The Cedar Grove Waste Composting offsets are certified through the Climate Action Reserve.
