March Windstorm Event

Thursday, March. 12, 2026 - 6 p.m.

We appreciate our customers’ patience today! Crews are working tirelessly to restore power as quickly and safely as possible, with power restored to nearly 90% of customers.

Work will continue around the clock until power is restored to all customers. While field crews report significant progress, they are still encountering significant issues in Skykomish and Greenwater.

In Skykomish, crew work is focused on the westside, where there are major points of damage on the system. Work is ongoing to make repairs. It will take into Friday to identify the rest of the damage points, and then time to fix it. This is complicated by remote terrain and heavy snow coming into the area could further slow patrols. At this point, we do not have an estimated time of restoration but anticipate it could be into the weekend. We have multiple crew resources working in the area to try to restore power as soon as possible.

In Greenwater, crews are working to restore the transmission line. While the repairs are being done on transmission, crews will start patrols on the distribution system. We do not have an estimated time of restoration until these patrols can be more fully completed.

Powerful Partnerships

For more than a century Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has prided itself in serving our communities. Keeping the lights on and gas flowing—safely and reliably—is at the center of everything we do. This standard is part of what makes the Pacific Northwest a great place to live, work and play. We realize there are local non-profits working toward a similar goal, and we want to help you in your efforts. One way we do that is through the PSE Powerful Partnerships Grant. Powerful Partners is a program committed to working with organizations taking steps to address their own sustainability goals while doing amazing work in their communities.

Recipients are nonprofit organizations throughout our service territory working to uplift their communities, many of them focusing on underserved residential populations. PSE partners with these organizations to share information with their clients, employees and donors on ways to save energy and money on their bills, while decreasing their carbon emissions.

The partnership with an awarded organization includes:

  • A financial contribution of $12,500
  • Six or more engagements with our Outreach team to reach customers
  • Informative content to share via communication channels
  • Minimal reporting requested

Since its 2016 inception, PSE has partnered with 102 organizations across its service territory, donating a total of $1.15 million.
