We’re watching the forecast and getting ready for strong winds this afternoon and evening. Because trees have fresh leaves, there’s an increased risk of power outages.

We understand how difficult it is to be without power. Our teams are ready to respond, and crews will remain in the field to assess damage and restore power as long as it is safe.

If your power goes out, we’ll work around the clock to restore it as quickly and safely as possible.

Visit PSE’s Alerts and Advisories page for information on our response efforts:  pse.com/alerts.

Safety first. Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report problems.

PSE Contractor Identification

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) employs both company employees and authorized contractors to conduct various utility services throughout its service areas, including routine gas system patrols, inspections, and surveys, as well as electrical work such as power restoration and utility locating services.

  • Gas System Work

    Property Access:

    • PSE conducts routine patrols, surveys and inspections of our gas system throughout its service area
    • While we may need to access customer property for gas system inspections, we typically focus on outdoor equipment and do not routinely enter customer homes during standard inspections
    • Gas system inspections are conducted by PSE employees and authorized contractors including Hydromax USA, Landis & Gyr, and Infrasource

    Emergency Situations:

    • In gas system emergencies, PSE will turn off gas service at the customer's meter located outside the home
    • PSE gas contractors only enter homes by customer appointment or to relight equipment after an exterior gas shutoff (also typically by customer appointment)
    • All Gas First Responders carry identification badges, wear clearly labeled clothing, and drive vehicles marked with PSE logos
  • Electric System Work

    Property Access

    • PSE contractors also access customer property for electrical work, including:
      • Power restoration to meters (performed by NW Utility Services)
      • Utility locating services that may require meter access
      • Various other electrical services on or around customer properties
  • Energy Efficiency Programs

    Neighborhood Outreach:

When conducting energy efficiency work in neighborhoods, PSE-authorized contractors may visit nearby homes to offer energy efficiency program services

    • These contractors are managed by our energy efficiency service provider
    • Customers should request identification and can contact PSE or the service provider with questions
  • Customer Verification

    • Customers should always ask for identification
    • If customers have questions about planned work in their area, they can call PSE customer service at 1 (888) 225-5773
    • Customer Service representatives can attempt to verify there are contractors in the area by checking planned work schedules or field calendars
    • Customers should never hesitate to contact PSE if they have concerns about anyone claiming to represent the company

All PSE employees and authorized contractors can be identified by:
