What do you do at PSE, and how long have you been here?
I have worked at PSE since 2001 and my current role is Manager, Operational Training.
Why did you want to work here?
The prior company I worked for shut down as a result of the energy crisis caused by Enron, et.al.
What’s the best or favorite part about your job?
Interacting with all parts of the company and understanding how all the pieces fit together and how we are dependent on each function.
What one thing do you need to know really well to do your job?
Interact with people, engage and listen.
What’s most challenging about your job?
The sheer size of the body of work to do and how to partner with the business units to meet their strategic needs.
What’s one of your most memorable moments while working here?
The Hanukah Eve storm, I finally got home on Christmas Eve that year…
What safety tip applies to your daily work?
Attention to detail, focus every day to fight complacency. Act if you see a hazard.
How does your role or work support our TOGETHER/carbon reduction campaign?
The training group partners with educational institutions across the region and nation to identify skills and practices that can support and grow our activities from the Tenino community project to skill panels to upskill our workers for technical skills and technology.

Where’s your favorite place to eat?
Doris Metropolitan restaurant on Jackson Square in New Orleans.
What's your favorite vacation spot? Why?
Maui—nothing hurts in the waters off Maui.
If you could do any job in the world for one day, what would it be?
Chief Justice.
What's the best advice you've ever received?
From my wife: Of course I could agree with you, then we both would be wrong.
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
A manatee.
What do you like to do outside of work? Any interesting hobbies or community service activities?
I chair the United Way Board of Directors in Whatcom County, I work with the Center of Excellence for Clean Energy. Otherwise, walk, hike, bike, and read. Spend time with my grandchildren and family..
If you could have any super power, what would it be?
My Granddaughter is a super hero (pictured) and she told me I have super “Pop-Pop” powers, and I am good with whatever that means to her.
Who would play you in the movie about your life?
Likely Sam Elliott.
Do you have a pet?
Sadly we lost our two Siamese kitties and decided animals were not for us, right now.

I have three children and two grandchildren My oldest is Derek and he is a JW Electrician; Rachel is my trouble maker, who is married to Ben; my youngest is Ryan who is a musician and free-spirit. My wife of 35 years is Cindi whose life mission is to buy out the store for my two grandchildren Chloe, 4, and Milo, 2.
