As a provider of an essential service, we are working to ensure we are here for our customers, our community and our employees as coronavirus impacts the region.
Governor Inslee has issued Proclamation 20-23, pertaining to Utility Ratepayer Assistance and Preservation of Essential Services. Puget Sound Energy is committed to keeping our customers connected to essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. If you are experiencing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for support, including long-term payment arrangements or bill assistance. This Proclamation does not relieve customers from the obligation to pay for utility services.
We know some customers might be worried about paying their bills. Here are actions we’ve taken on behalf of our customers:
Residential
- We are not disconnecting customers for non-payment and we are waiving late fees, at this time.
- We will work with customers on options such as payment plans and choosing a new bill date.
- We have an energy assistance portal to facilitate access to funds available to income qualified customers.
Business
- We will not be disconnecting customers for non-payment during this time.
- We will work with customers on options such as payment plans and choosing a new bill date.
If you have additional questions about COVID-19 support, not covered by the resources above, please contact the Utilities and Transportation Commission Consumer Hotline: 1-888-333-WUTC (9882) or consumer@utc.wa.gov for bill assistance information.
