She’s only been at PSE for less than a year but has made a big impact already.

Read more about one of Molly’s most memorable moments at PSE and what she likes to do in her free time.

What do you do at PSE, and how long have you been here?
I have been at PSE just under one year and have been working on developing PSE’s carbon reduction strategy.

Why did you want to work here?
I grew up in Seattle and spent my summers hiking and winters skiing. My love of the outdoors guided me to dedicate my education and career to energy and the environment. I am passionate about clean energy and excited about helping PSE meet its commitment to carbon reduction.

What’s the best or favorite part about your job?
I have the freedom to be creative and develop new strategies, tools, and business opportunities for PSE to reduce our emissions. Also, because PSE is one of the larger emission sources in Washington State, I am excited about the opportunity to have a positive energy impact on a large scale.

What one thing do you need to know really well to do your job?
One thing that helps me excel at my job is being curious and asking why. By questioning how things work, and why things are done in a particular way, starts a conversation about ways that we can solve challenges or improve our business.

What’s one of your most memorable moments while working here?
In May, I won the New Product Development team “golden sneaker” award for logging the most steps during the first round of the step challenge. This month, I am excited to be stepping with a great team to bring home the other sneaker in Round #2

How does your role or work support our TOGETHER/carbon reduction campaign?
My entire role is dedicated to the carbon reduction campaign. However, on a personal level I have been trying to bike from my home in Seattle to work in Bellevue at least three times a week.

Of PSE’s values, which resonates most with you and why?
We have each other’s backs – it is so important to work with great people, and I feel lucky to work with and be inspired by such great colleagues each day.

What’s your favorite place to eat?
My dining room or patio! I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, especially with homegrown vegetables from my garden. There is no better place to enjoy a meal than on the patio overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains on a Seattle summer night surrounded by friends and family.

What's your favorite vacation spot? Why?
In general, I love exploring new places for every vacation. But in the winter, I love skiing in Sun Valley.

If you could do any job in the world for one day, what would it be?
A pop star. I was in choirs and acapella groups growing up and still love to sing. I think it would be a blast, but only for a day.

What do you like to do outside of work? Any interesting hobbies or community service activities?
One of my hobbies is hand painting glassware. I started selling hand-painted lemonade glasses during high school to raise money for a community service project in Costa Rica. Over the years my repertoire has expanded, and I still enjoy painting fun, colorful glassware for friends and family.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?
I would like to have the power to teleport. I love to travel, so it would be so fun to be able to snap my fingers and be anywhere in the world. This would also help me reduce on my carbon footprint!
