Atmospheric river event

We know how challenging and stressful it can be to lose power, especially when you are already dealing with the impacts of severe weather. We want you to know that we are doing everything we can to restore your service safely and quickly. The additional rainfall from this second major storm worsened the already saturated and unstable soil conditions in our region. Damage has been scattered throughout our service area with Kitsap, North King and Skagit counties being hit the hardest.

Our response teams and additional crews from outside our region are working around the clock as long as it is safe to do so. Above all, safety comes first — please take extra precautions and stay safe out there!

When is my power coming back on?

We know that you need to make plans. To provide accurate restoration times, we need to assess the extent of the damage and what repairs need to be made. We start damage assessment as soon as it's safe for our teams to be in the field. We will set estimated restoration times once we have an initial assessment of damage.

Energy efficiency (EE) custom grant incentives for PSE’s commercial customers

PSE offers a wide array of incentives for their commercial customers for completing energy efficiency upgrades within their facilities. Please review our webpage for more details about our various commercial energy efficiency programs.

If your commercial project saves energy, PSE will likely have an incentive or rebate available to help fund your EE upgrades. Besides offering many programs with available prescriptive rebates, PSE also offers custom incentives for projects. These EE projects or upgrades are analyzed by our team of Energy Management Engineers and Project Managers, and are awarded incentives if the project demonstrates cost-effective energy savings.

A custom grant is a custom-calculated incentive for your EE project and may be the perfect option if your project’s scope goes beyond our suite of prescriptive commercial EE programs.

With a custom grant, the process is a little different and requires creating a ‘conservation grant agreement’ between PSE and the project’s participant. This agreement will provide the EE measure details as well as the eligible grant incentive amount calculated by PSE.

What to expect during the custom grant process

Here is the process for applying and receiving a custom grant incentive from PSE:

An Energy Management Engineer or Project Manager is assigned to each incoming commercial project and will be the main PSE point of contact throughout the duration of the project.

1. Project review and approval

Upon receipt of your application, we will review your project details to determine the cost-effective energy savings and associated incentive amount. This will involve a thorough analysis and quality control review from our team of Energy Management Engineers and Project Managers. Please provide any supporting documents, including a signed and completed current taxpayer identification form (W-9) and manufacturer specification sheets for this project.

2. Conservation grant agreement

If we determine your energy efficiency project has cost-effective energy savings, we will create a ‘grant agreement’ document which will be signed by PSE management and then emailed to the project participant to sign. Once both parties have signed this document, the incentive amount is guaranteed assuming the scope of work detailed in the agreement is completed. The grant agreement will also include verification requirements that must be completed prior to payment of the incentive.

3. Verification of energy efficiency project

Upon project completion, our team will coordinate verification of the efficiency measures. This may include a site visit, visual inspection or other verification method in order to confirm correct completion of the project. We will also need all project invoices to finalize the incentive payment.

4. Payment request processed

Once we have verified your energy efficient project has been completed per the executed grant agreement (along with any supporting documentation), we will initiate your project’s incentive payment. This step may take several weeks for our team and accounts payable to process.

5. Conservation incentive payment

When the payment details have been processed, we will send you your conservation grant incentive payment in your preferred method of ACH payment or mailed check.

6. Continuing your clean energy journey

PSE has many people and programs ready to support your clean energy journey. We would love the opportunity to continuing supporting you in all your efforts towards a more sustainable future!
