Why is PSE offering Discounted Public Charging?
The Discounted Public Charging demonstration is designed to make electric vehicle charging more accessible and affordable for underserved communities. The program provides discounted access to PSE owned public EV charging stations for income-qualified customers, and those who face barriers to EV adoption.
By leveraging Clean Fuel Standard revenues, this Discounted Public Charging demonstration creates a scalable model that ensures housing type doesn't determine access to clean transportation options. The program extends PSE's commitment to energy equity into transportation electrification while supporting Washington's climate goals and exploring how utilities can effectively serve emerging transportation needs.
