Fire Weather Forecasted

Due to current weather forecasts a Red Flag Warning has been issued for Kittitas County. As part of PSE’s wildfire safe operations, we are turning on system settings that are more sensitive to potential hazards. These settings will stay in place as long as high wildfire risk conditions are present.

Enhanced Powerline Settings are designed to help keep you safe, but they may result in unplanned power outages. This is not a Public Safety Power Shutoff, where we proactively turn off power in advance of severe weather.

For more information or to report a power outage, visit PSE’s Outage map.

alert

Safety first. Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report problems.

Inflation Reduction Act: An unprecedented investment for climate change and our clean energy future

Bellevue, Washington (8/17/2022) To mark the enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act, Puget Sound Energy issued the following statement from Mary Kipp, President and CEO:

The enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act ushers in new pathways for Puget Sound Energy to move further and faster to a carbon-neutral future than ever before. In 2021, we announced our aspirational goal to reach net zero carbon emissions across our entire business by 2045 and to go even further by enabling other sectors to reduce carbon emissions.

The programs and initiatives in the Inflation Reduction Act are key to helping us meet our aggressive emission reduction goals and enable our clean energy transition, without compromising reliability and affordability for our customers. They put our nation on surer footing toward making clean energy more accessible to more people, in part by incenting energy-efficient appliances and technologies like heat pumps, rooftop solar panels and electric vehicles for customers who have traditionally struggled to afford them. I am also pleased that the Inflation Reduction Act encourages important investments in alternative fuels, such as hydrogen and renewable natural gas. These are exciting opportunities that can help PSE accelerate our planned decarbonization efforts across our services, and complement Washington’s profile as a leader in the green energy economy.

I recognize the urgent nature of this climate crisis and Puget Sound Energy remains committed to make meaningful progress toward creating a better energy future for our customers and neighbors across the region.
