What do you do at PSE and how long have you been here?
I serve as the Safety Consultant in our Northern Region, and have worked at PSE for 10 years.

Why did you want to work here? Or Why do you enjoy working here?
PSE is a good place to make a career, and I can do that without relocating. I enjoy where I live, working where I live, and the people I get to interact with.

What one thing do you need to know really well to do your job?
People. You need to know the people you are serving in order to serve them efficiently and effectively.

What are you most proud of working at PSE?
The stability it provides for my family.

What’s one of your most memorable moments while working here?
I have so many, and most of them came from working with the fisheries crew at Baker River in the earlier part of my career.

What’s most challenging about your job?
Knowing it all, and being everywhere at the same time.

What safety tip applies to your daily work?
Everything I do is safety. I can’t get away from it. It even follows me home.

Of PSE’s values, which resonates most with you and why?
Doing the right thing. Shouldn’t that be one of our “life goals”? I think most people make a point of trying to do this, and when you don’t…you know it.

What’s your favorite place to eat?
Annie’s Pizza in Concrete

What's your favorite vacation spot? Why?
Kauai, 20 years ago, honeymoon. Why?...uhhhh, it was our honeymoon.

If you could do any job in the world for one day, what would it be and why?
Stay at home Dad. I really like being home, and I love being a Dad.

What's the best advice you've ever received?
Put God first.

If you could be any animal, what would you be?
A Peregrine Falcon. They can fly…and they’re fast.

What do you like to do outside of work? Any interesting hobbies or community service activities?
I like to explore the North Cascades (backyard), I enjoy coaching high school volleyball and basketball, I teach the high school Sunday school class at my church (and preach at local churches from time to time), my wife and I volunteer as the Area Directors for Concrete Youth Dynamics (a really cool non-profit that helps at-risk teens), I serve on the town library board, as President of the Booster Club, President of the local Volleyball and Basketball Clubs, and I serve as a Captain on the Concrete Fire Department.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Stop or slow down time. I just need more of it.

What’s the best or favorite part about your job?
The people I work with. It can make or break any job, and it makes my job enjoyable.

If you could be on any reality TV show, which would you choose and why?
I don’t watch much TV. But, I think it would be fun to be on a reality show. My wife is a Big Brother fan, so I would probably choose that one, so that way she can watch me win.

Who would play you in the movie about your life?
Some people say I remind them of Will Smith, look like Liam Hemsworth, or act like Jim Carey, but the actor that most people associate me with is….Will Ferrell. So, yeah, give him a call, and let’s get this thing rolling.

Do you have a pet? If yes, what type?
I do not own a pet…however, my wife has a dog, my oldest daughter has a dog, a cat, and four chickens, my son has a cat, my middle daughter has a horse and a cat, and my youngest daughter has a cat…so, to answer your original question, yes, I have 11 pets…never mind, one of our cats just had kittens…make that 15 pets.
