Effective August 10, 2025, in accordance with state law, PSE will no longer be offering rebates to our residential customers on natural gas appliances or equipment.

We’re committed to supporting our customer’s evolving energy choices and facilitating the adoption of energy-efficient appliances and practices through our various other program offerings.

What you get

Receive a $400 rebate when you upgrade to a qualifying energy-efficient natural gas tankless water heater.

$660 Efficiency Boost rebate based on your income (see below or visit pse.com/boost for more details).

Equipment requirements
  • You must have installed a qualifying natural gas tankless water header on or before August 9, 2025.
  • Qualifying gas equipment must be installed in PSE’s gas service area.
  • Rebates only available on new, qualifying equipment.
  • Must install to comply with all federal, state and local code requirements.
  • Equipment that is replaced under warranty will not be eligible for a second rebate.
  • You must choose your natural gas tankless water heater from our list of qualified products that meet the specifications* outlined below:

Uniform Energy Factor UEF ≥ 0.95
Maximum Gallons Per Minute Max GPM ≥ 2.8 over a 67°F rise

*These product requirements are based on ENERGY STAR® Residential Water Heater specifications version 4.0.

Rebate requirements
  • Rebate application must be submitted within 30 days of installation and include all required supplemental documentation (English/Español/Tiếng Việt).
  • If instant rebate is provided by contractor, you will not be eligible for an additional rebate.
  • One rebate per qualified single-family residence.
  • Cannot be combined with any other rebates except where noted.
  • Rebate cannot exceed the pre-tax purchase price of any rebated product.
  • To apply online, you will need an electronic image of your paid installation invoice or purchase receipt for your installed product(s).

If applying for increased Efficiency Boost rebates:

  • All above requirements still apply.
  • Review these income guidelines to ensure you qualify for Efficiency Boost.
  • If you qualify, complete the online (fastest) or downloadable rebate form above. Be sure to fill out the Efficiency Boost qualification section to receive your higher rebate amount.

Tankless water heaters can significantly increase the efficiency of heating water for your home, but these gains may require modifications to your existing system. To ensure a proper installation it is important to discuss installation requirements with your contractor. These requirements may include increasing the size of meter or service line into the home, relocating the unit to a more suitable location and complying with additional venting requirements. For further assistance, we can refer you to a PSE Recommended Energy Professional (REP).
