PSE hosts Electric Car Ride and Drive event in Bellingham
Public/workplace event takes place at Barkley Village Green

BELLEVUE, Wash. (8/15/2019) Puget Sound Energy is offering a chance to get up close and personal with some of today’s newest electric vehicles.

The Ride & Drive takes place Aug. 20 at the Barkley Village Green, where tenants of the urban village and the wider Bellingham and Whatcom communities can test drive a variety of electric cars and hear what it’s like to go electric from PSE experts.

PSE wants to help Washington state exceed its goal of having 50,000 electric vehicles on our roads by 2020. Through its education efforts, PSE is working to help customers understand the costs and benefits of driving an electric car.

Some of the cars available to test drive include the Chevy Bolt, Audi e-tron, Volkswagen e-Golf, Nissan LEAF, and more. Barkley Village will provide food trucks, lawn games and other activities for those who are EV curious.

Drivers can also find out about the new Washington state tax incentive where they can save up to $2,500 on the lease or purchase of a new electric vehicle under $45,000, or up to $1,600 on the lease or purchase of a used electric vehicle under $30,000.

PSE hosts free Ride & Drive events throughout the year to allow drivers an opportunity to test multiple models without sales pressure.

When: August 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Barkley Village Green; 2215 Rimland Dr. Bellingham.
