PSE’s ‘Powerful Partnerships’ program hits milestone; donating more than $1M to non-profits
Powerful Partners has surpassed $1M in donations across more than 100 organizations in the past nine years

Bellevue, Washington (4/17/2025) Puget Sound Energy is excited to celebrate a major milestone in its “Powerful Partners” program. Since its 2016 inception, PSE has partnered with 102 organizations across its service territory, donating a total of $1.15 million.

Powerful Partners is a program committed to working with organizations taking steps to address their own sustainability goals while doing amazing work in their communities. This year the program is awarding 10 nonprofits with donations totaling $125,000.

"We're thrilled to announce this significant milestone of $1 million in donations through our Powerful Partners program,” said PSE Chief Customer and Transformation Officer Aaron August. “This achievement represents more than just a number – it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to building stronger, more sustainable communities. By supporting local organizations, we're helping to create positive change and advance our region toward a cleaner energy future. We're grateful to all our customers and partners who have helped make this possible."

Recipients are nonprofit organizations throughout our service territory working to uplift their communities, many of them focusing on underserved residential populations.

Many programs we select are like Friends of Little Saigon (FLS) Seattle. FLS is the social, economic and cultural hub of the Vietnamese community in the Puget Sound Region. Organizations like FLS can use the funds to invest in cleaner energy, enabling them to further their mission while focusing less on utility bills.

“FLS is delighted to be selected for PSE Powerful Partners,” FLS Community Engagement Manager Andy Pham said. “This partnership allows us to directly enhance the prosperity of the Little Saigon small businesses by connecting them with crucial rebate programs. We are eager to work alongside PSE to deliver tangible financial benefits and strengthen our local economy.”

Another recipient, AKIN South King Family Resource Center, a safe and caring place for children and families in our community, says this is more than collaboration, but an opportunity.

“We are passionate about disrupting systemic and multi-generational cycles of inequity and this collaboration helps us do just that,” AKIM Family Resource Center Manager Jan Yochim said. “This partnership is more than just a collaboration – it’s an opportunity to provide families with the resources, tools and support they need to thrive.”

PSE will partner with these organizations to share information with their clients, employees and donors on ways to save energy and money on their bills, while decreasing their carbon emissions.
