PSE’s ‘Powerful Partnerships’ Program celebrates decade of sustainability support
Powerful Partnerships program celebrates 10-years of empowering communities through energy partnerships with new round of partners
Bellevue, Washington (4/23/2026) Puget Sound Energy’s “Powerful Partnerships” program continues to advance the shared goal of cleaner energy by collaborating with community organizations who directly serve residential customers and small businesses with energy efficiency resources, rebate assistance, and educational workshops.
This year, PSE is distributing $125,000 across 10 organizations within its service area to fund specific initiatives such as weatherization clinics, appliance upgrade consultations, and multilingual energy education materials. Funding provided by Community Giving programs from Puget Sound Energy do not come from PSE customer rates and is funded separately by the corporation.
PSE will partner with these organizations to provide their clients, employees and donors with hands-on support including home energy assessments, guidance on available rebates for heat pumps and electric vehicles, and personalized action plans to reduce both energy costs and carbon emissions.
"The Powerful Partners program reflects our commitment to meeting organizations where they are on their sustainability journey while honoring the incredible work they do every day in their communities," said PSE's Senior Vice President, Chief Customer and Transformation Officer Aaron August. "By partnering with nonprofit organizations who uplift vulnerable populations and serve small businesses, we're extending the cost-saving benefits of energy conservation and efficiency to those who form the backbone of our communities. Through reduced energy consumption, these organizations can lower their utility bills, support a more reliable electric grid for everyone, and access cleaner energy options. Ensuring these vital community organizations and small businesses can stretch their budgets further and continue to thrive with greater financial sustainability."
One of this year’s partners is the Olympia Area Chinese Association (OACA), an organization dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture while creating meaningful connections among its members. It provides networking opportunities bringing individuals together, hosts celebrations for major traditional Chinese holidays and actively promotes cultural exchange. Through these efforts, the group supports dialogue and collaboration, strengthening cross-cultural understanding within the broader community.
"This funding will enable the Olympia Area Chinese Association to expand our efforts in energy sustainability education and empower our community with the tools and knowledge needed to save energy and contribute to a more sustainable future,” board member YuanLong Ge said. “We view this opportunity not simply as a sponsorship, but as a chance to work alongside Puget Sound Energy to advance shared goals around sustainability, equity, and community education. OACA brings deep community trust, bilingual capacity, and proven outreach experience that can help PSE better connect with customers.”
Mutual Aid Solidarity | Neighbors in Action (MANA), was also selected as a 2026 Powerful Partner, focusing on community-led support, food security and resource distribution. The grassroots organization based in Mt. Vernon works in solidarity rather than charity, providing food boxes, and community support in Skagit County.
“We feel truly honored to be selected as a recipient of this award, and we sincerely appreciate PSE’s support,” MANA Executive Director Rufina Jimenez said. “In recent years, many communities of color have faced growing challenges and vulnerabilities in many aspects of daily life. PSE’s commitment to supporting community initiatives brings renewed hope and meaningful opportunities for our families to thrive.”
