PSE hosts Electric Car Ride and Drive event in Olympia
The free event takes place at the Capital Mall on Saturday, Sept.14

BELLEVUE, Wash. (9/12/2019) Puget Sound Energy will host a free, community-focused electric car ride and drive event in the Capital Mall parking lot between the Century Movie Theatre and REI from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The public is invited to test drive a variety of electric cars in one location and on one day! Many of today’s most popular electric and plug-in hybrid cars will be available for test drives. Washington state recently exceeded its goal of having 50,000 electric vehicles on the roads by 2020 and PSE continues its efforts to get more electric cars on the road.

Drivers can zip around on a local test drive route and experience the fun, unique aspects of an electric car; these include an electric car’s energy-saving regenerative braking, quick starts off the line (thanks to the torque of the electric motor), and a quiet ride.

Staff from Puget Sound Energy will be available to answer questions about electric cars, carbon reduction efforts, and other associated energy programs. Dealership staff will be available to answer questions about buying or leasing an electric vehicle and provide more detailed information on specific vehicle models.

Test drives are free and on a first come first served basis. Drivers must be 21 or older and show a current driver’s license and insurance card.
