Crews out in full force responding to early fall storm.

Crews continue to restore power to customers impacted by Friday's unseasonably strong storm, including in the Yelm and Rainier areas where the majority of outages remain.

We know how hard it is to be without power and we appreciate our customers' patience as crews make repairs and restore power.

Safety first:

  • Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized.
  • Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report problems.
  • Use flashlights instead of candles.  
  • Never operate a generator indoors or in enclosed spaces.  
  • Be aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning: Never install or use a generator indoors or in enclosed or partially enclosed areas, even those that are ventilated.

Puget Sound Energy offers free, instructor-led safety trainings, each focused on a specific topic:

  • Natural Gas Awareness
  • High Voltage Safety
  • Safe Digging Practices

Each training session is offered separately and is designed to help protect workers and first responders by promoting best practices and preventing accidents in the field.

We offer flexible training sessions that can be held either at our facility or yours, scheduled at a date and time that works for you—based on trainer availability.

Please note: Trainings are temporarily paused during storm season, as our trainers are also first responders who are actively deployed in the field to restore power and perform critical repairs.
