Windows rebate

Improve the comfort of your home year-round by installing energy-efficient windows. Efficient windows can help seal in cool air during the summer and warm air during the winter, reducing your monthly bill and helping you save long-term.

  • Overview and Benefits

    Signs it’s time to replace

    • If your windows have wood or metal frames, they’re likely candidates for replacement as these materials become prone to leaks with age. Look for drafts, condensation between panes, difficulty opening or closing, and visible deterioration of frames or seals.

    Energy loss through old windows/doors

    • Old windows can be major sources of energy loss in your home. Air leaks around deteriorating frames allow conditioned air to escape, forcing you heating or colling system to work hard, increasing energy costs.

    Comfort and noise reduction benefits

    • New energy-efficient windows dramatically improve indoor comfort by eliminating drafts and maintaining consistent temperatures throughout your home. Additionally, modern windows provide superior noise reduction, creating a quieter, more peaceful living environment.

    Impact on home value

    • Energy-efficient window replacements not only reduce utility bills, but also increase your home’s market value. Modern windows enhance curb appeal while providing long-term energy savings that appeal to potential buyers.
  • Project Types & Options

    Window pane options

    • Modern windows offer various pane configurations, from double to triple-pane options with advanced coatings and gas fills. Each option provides different levels of insulation and energy performance to meet your specific needs.

    Window frame improvements

    • Upgrading from old wood or metal frames to modern materials like vinyl, fiberglass, or composite significantly improves energy efficiency. These newer frame materials resist air infiltration and provide better insulation than traditional options.

    U-factors explained

    • The U-factor is the primary qualifier for PSE window rebates, measuring how well a window prevents heat transfer. Lower U-factors include better insulation performance. While many energy-efficient options exist, focusing on U-factor ensures you select windows that meet the requirements for PSE rebates.

    Patio doors

    • Glass patio doors are an often-overlooked component of PSE’s rebate program that can provide significant energy savings. Modern patio doors create an extra barrier against air infiltration and weather, making them a cost-effective upgrade that deserves appropriate attention.
