To receive the discount, you must use a PSE Up & Go Electric public charger.

PSE Up & Go Electric charging stations are open to all EV drivers and feature a mix of DCFC and Level 2 charging ports for fast and reliable charging. Up & Go Electric public charging stations are located near major travel routes and shopping destinations in our service area. Here's where you can find them:

Most public charging stations have connectors to fit any electric vehicle model. However, Tesla vehicles will require a purchasable adapter to use PSE Up & Go Electric public charging stations. Websites like PlugShare.com show what connectors are available at a given station.

With your 45% discount, here’s what you’ll pay:

• DC fast charging: $0.23 per kWh ($0.42 per kWh without discount)
• Level 2 charging: $0.15 per kWh ($0.28 per kWh without discount)
• Our public stations also charge an idle fee of $0.40/minute for vehicles that remain connected 10 minutes after their charging session has concluded

These rates reflect the market average for our region and are subject to change. Our prices are based on kilowatt-hours used – rather than time spent charging – which ensures rates are more equitable for all drivers, regardless of their EV model.

• Charging with EV Connect App
  1. Download the EV Connect app (Apple, Android)
  2. Connect the charging cable to the charge port on your EV
  3. Use the EV Connect app’s “charge” screen to scan the charger’s QR code – or manually enter the charger’s ID number – and click “go”
     1. On the app, select the connector number (if applicable) and click “start charge”
  4. When you’re finished charging, click “stop charge” on the app
  5. Unplug the charging cable and reinsert it into the cable holster
• Charging with your EV Connect key fob
  1. Download the EV Connect app (Apple, Android) or log into the driver portal online at https://ops.evconnect.com/driver-portal
     1. Click “Add Key Fob” in the My Account section within the app if you already have a key fob or order a new one.
     2. Add your preferred payment method to the account. 
  2. Before Connecting the charging cable, tap your EV Connect RFID card on the card reader on the charging point 
     1. The card contains unique data that allows the station to identify you and begin the charging process
     2. Once authentication is successful, plug the charging cable from the station into your EV’s charging port
     3. Charging will begin automatically
  3. When you’re finished charging tap your EV Connect RFID card on the charging point's reader again to end the session and unlock the connector.
  4. Unplug the charging cable and reinsert it into the cable holster

Your discount is automatically applied to the cost of your charging session when you initiate a charge through the app or fob. You should see your eligible discount in the pricing policy prior to starting a session. Additionally, this can be viewed by reviewing your session summary details with the app and/or your charging session email receipt displaying the discount.

• You must currently be a PSE electric residential customer
• You must be enrolled in PSE’s Bill Discount Rate program
• You must own or lease an EV
• You must sign up for an EV Connect account through the (Apple, Android) App or online here

The discount will be available to you for 12 months upon approval of your application. This is a limited time offer as PSE is evaluating options for a full program in the future, at which point you may be invited to reapply. Your feedback will be critical to designing equitable solutions for public charging.
