East Enumclaw Substation

Project overview

To increase reliability and meet growing customer demand for power, PSE will be constructing a new substation in Enumclaw near Commerce Street, off Roosevelt Avenue. The substation will be used to transform power from 115 kV to 55/34.5 kV to improve service for the Greenwater and Crystal Mountain community. Additionally, this new substation is an important part of a larger electric reliability improvement effort which includes several electric upgrade projects between Electron and Enumclaw. We are converting the voltage of over 20 miles of transmission line between the Electron Heights and Krain Corner substations, and converting, upgrading or completely rebuilding five substations in the area. This project strengthens the electric system in the region by improving the reliability of our infrastructure and enabling us to better serve customers now and in the future.

Process and timeline

We are currently in the permitting phase for the new East Enumclaw substation. Construction to build the substation is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026. This new substation is expected to begin serving PSE customers in late 2026. We are committed to keeping the community informed of our progress and potential construction impacts throughout the duration of this project.
